Where automotive projects are decided technically.

In the automotive environment, complex vehicle electrical systems, many interfaces, short development cycles and high reliability requirements come together. A function that works on the test bench must also stay stable under electrical interference, temperature cycling and in interplay with other control units.

Typical tasks.

We support the development and validation of control units, vehicle-electrical-system electronics, battery systems, communication interfaces and test setups. We consider hardware, embedded software, EMC and test not separately, but as a connected system.

Our contribution.

SAMD is based in Meine, at the heart of Lower Saxony's automotive cluster. We know the requirements of OEMs and suppliers — and we secure ECUs and drive components on the EMC side in our own lab.

Components that pass for multiple markets.

On the EMC side, automotive electronics have to be prepared for different markets and approval paths. We work throughout development along common requirements — CISPR 25 (radio disturbance at component and vehicle level), ISO 11452 (immunity), LV 124 as well as OEM-specific standards such as TL 81000 or MBN 50284. That way a limit value never becomes an approval risk at the end of the project.

As a partner in the Wolfsburg/Braunschweig automotive cluster (site in Meine, EMC lab in Harbke) we know the requirements of OEMs and suppliers — from ECU and drive system through to worldwide approval. (Check standard revisions against the valid edition before use.)

What does CISPR 25 govern?
CISPR 25 addresses radio disturbance to protect receivers on board vehicles (component and vehicle level). We use development-accompanying measurements to prepare components for it early on. (Check the standard revision against the valid edition before use.)
Which OEM standards do you cover?
In addition to the general standards (CISPR 25, ISO 11452, LV 124), we work with OEM-specific EMC standards such as TL 81000 or MBN 50284 — we clarify the specific standards framework on a per-project basis.
Do you support ECE-R10 homologation?
We prepare your product for the test throughout development (fit for the R10 test). Formal type approval is granted by KBA-appointed technical services — we do not carry out this accredited test ourselves.
