Troubleshooting · When the test has already failed

EMC problem? We find the cause — not just the measured value.

A failed test, interference in the field or a tight limit value shortly before the start of series production: now what counts is fast localization, clear prioritization and measures that work in the real setup.

  • Root cause analysis
  • Layout & shielding
  • Software behavior
  • Re-design

This is how we get your product through the test.

01

Locate

Set up the measurement configuration and observation so that the cause becomes visible.

02

Prioritize

The few most effective measures instead of frantic activity in many places.

03

Implement

Change layout, shielding, filter, installation or software behavior in a targeted way.

04

Validate

Verify in our in-house lab — with documented margin.

Where EMC problems really come from.

A failed test almost always has a few, clearly localizable causes — most often grounding and return-current paths, followed by shield connection (pigtails instead of 360°), filter placement, cable routing/installation and, not infrequently, clocked software/switching edges as an unexpected interference source. We reproduce the effect in the pre-compliance setup, locate the most effective point and act in a targeted way — instead of blindly stacking up measures.

Large labs test and deliver a measurement report. We fix the cause and validate the measure in our own fully-anechoic chamber — through to a passed test.

Frequently asked questions.

How quickly can you help with an acute EMC problem?
We prioritize acute release/series-production problems. After a brief description of the system, measurement and deadline, we'll tell you how quickly a measurement/analysis appointment is possible.
Why doesn't my device pass the EMC test?
Common causes are grounding, shield connection (e.g. pigtails), filter placement, cable routing or clocked software. More on this in the guide EMC test not passed.

Test not passed? Let's talk before the deadline falls through.

Briefly describe the measurement, system and deadline — we'll name the next effective steps.
